The role
We are looking to expand our team of inspirational Associate Lecturers who deliver high-quality learning experiences with expertise gained through teaching, relevant industry experience, or both.
You may be asked to teach both undergraduate and postgraduate students, usually through either a lecture or tutorial format, and may also contribute to the design of some learning activities and assessments.
You will have well-developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant from an academic and/or professional perspective in one or more of the following:
- Leadership & Management
- Planning and Development (Property)
- Business Consultancy
- Property Construction
The department
Join our Business Management and People Division and play a key role in transforming the lives of our students. We offer a diverse and multidisciplinary portfolio of courses, including undergraduate and apprenticeship degrees in Business & Management and Real Estate, as well as a Senior Leader Apprenticeship. At the postgraduate level, our MSc programmes in Human Resource & Organisational Development and Real Estate provide advanced learning opportunities for aspiring professionals. Our programs are accredited by CIPD, RICS, and ILM. We pride ourselves on the strong vocational nature of our teaching and are particularly interested in recruiting people with a mix of academic skills and strong practical experience.
Sheffield Business School has approximately 6,000 students and 220 academic staff. It has a long history dating back to the 1950s, and was formally branded as Sheffield Business School in 1986, achieving significant success since then. You will be contractually enrolled into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS)—one of the largest and most generous defined-benefit pension schemes in the country. Each year, you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/57th of your salary, and the University will contribute approximately 29% of your salary towards this pension. For example, with a starting salary of £40,000, the University would pay over £11,400 in the first year, and you would earn a pension of about £702 per annum payable from your State Pension Age.
