Hallam Students’ Union is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Student Rights & Campaigns Team as a Wellbeing & Peer Support Lead.
Who we are
The Student Rights & Campaigns Team is a small team, made up of 3 Career staff and a handful of student staff. We look after a range of areas, including campaigns, policy, wellbeing, cost of living support & liberation. Our work is pulled together by our strong commitment to remove barriers for students, whether that’s around developing a campaign on housing rights, to consulting the Council on sexual health commissioning.
What’s the job?
The Wellbeing & Peer Support Lead is responsible for the operational development of the wellbeing service & provision at HSU as well as supporting the strategic development work. This includes managing key interventions, supporting student co-production of wellbeing assets and advocating for student wellbeing needs within HSU, SHU & the City region, including collaborating on key policy issues. The role exists to ensure students are well-supported in their university journey through impactful and student-informed wellbeing initiatives, making Sheffield Hallam a supportive environment for all students.

You are a confident individual with a background in wellbeing work, whether that’s policy, peer‑support, wellbeing services or something different entirely and are looking for the next step in your career. You’re seeking variety and a way to dip your toes into a range of areas, including loneliness, harm reduction & period poverty. You would like to take ownership of your own area, whilst also finding real value in teamwork. You’d like to be empowered to find creative solutions and enjoy the chance to network and develop relationships across the city.
