Sheffield Heritage Charity is seeking trustees to support the strategic direction and secure the future of the Sheffield General Cemetery Trust.

Role Summary

As a trustee you will shape our strategic direction, contribute to specific expertise areas, and help ensure the charity achieves its core purposes while safeguarding its future.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight of the Trust’s activities.
  • Support the development and preservation of the cemetery as a heritage, environmental, and education amenity.
  • Help secure funding through grant bids and fundraising events.
  • Contribute to interpretation and communication of the cemetery’s heritage and story.
  • Participate in trustee meetings and represent the Trust to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • General organisational or business experience.
  • Specific skills in research and interpretation, landscape ecology, or grant bidding.
  • Passion for heritage preservation and community engagement.
  • Commitment to volunteering the required time (part‑time).
