The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues. Based in the offices at our 64 acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer. This role will involve supporting production of machining programmes, drawings and planning of machining operations through the whole production lifecycle.
Role Responsibilities
- 3D modelling of customer components and producing 2D drawings from the models, using Unigraphics.
- Producing both turning and milling programmes using Unigraphics.
- In‑house development work including designing.
- Produce step‑by‑step routing of components through the Machine Shops to optimise production.
- Taking a methodical approach in identifying and monitoring risks on process changes.
About You
- Strong programming experience, for castings and forgings.
- Good knowledge of modern milling machine cutters and methods.
- CAD/CAM experience, ideally Siemens NX.
- Ability to create models and manufacturing drawings is essential.
- Experience using Unigraphics.
- Experience in offline programming of CNC milling and turning machining is essential.
- Experience using programme verification software, such as Vericut.
- Our ideal candidate will also be an apprentice‑trained machinist.
Days/Hours of Work
37.5 hours per week, days initially then moving to a 2‑shift system – mornings and afternoons after successfully completing induction.
