Head of Site Facilities in Sheffield

At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Site Facilities to join our team. This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, and will involve leading the strategic and day-to-day management of SFEL’s buildings and infrastructure, ensuring a safe, compliant, sustainable, and well-maintained estate aligned with the Site Master Plan.

What you’ll be doing:

• Develop and deliver the facilities strategy, asset plans, and maintenance programmes.
• Support site development, transitions, and new build projects.
• Ensure full statutory, regulatory, and safety compliance across the estate.
• Promote a strong safety culture through inspections, risk assessments, and audits.
• Lead, develop, and motivate the facilities team through inclusive management.
• Manage facilities budgets, forecasts, procurement, and contractor performance.
• Drive value for money, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Embed sustainability, energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and waste management.
• Ensure buildings and services support accessibility, wellbeing, and inclusion.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, KPIs, and emergency response.

About You:

• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, water, and fire safety.
• Sound understanding of statutory, regulatory, and H&S compliance requirements.
• Proven experience managing facilities in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Competent in planned and reactive maintenance management.
• Experience of audits, inspections, compliance reporting, and KPI monitoring.
• Skilled in contractor management and safe systems of work.
• Experience delivering capital, infrastructure, and improvement projects.
• Understanding of asset lifecycle planning, sustainability, and energy efficiency.
• Strong technical problem-solving and procurement capability.

The Working Pattern:

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. We offer flexibility in our start and finish times between 06:15 – 09:30 and 14:30 – 18:00.
