An exciting Apprentice opportunity has arisen to work with our Estates Services Team. We are looking for an Apprentice to work as part of Sheffield City Council’s Housing and Neighbourhood Service, supporting the delivery of a quality housing service. This is to be carried out with a strong emphasis on quality, customer care, consultation and teamwork, to deliver Estates Services within an area of the City within clearly established and monitored targets and standards.

You will contribute to the team to ensure service delivery priorities are met by providing a point of contact for internal teams and external agencies. This is a two-year apprenticeship where you can expect to be provided with the necessary training, support and time to study towards a recognised qualification. This opportunity will allow you to develop the skills to fulfil the role of Estates Housing Officer, gain excellent work experience by being supported by experienced staff and to gain a qualification whilst earning a salary. You will study towards a Level 2 apprenticeship to obtain a Housing Certificate.

Level 2 Maths and English CSE - grade 1 GCSE - grades 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4 or grades A*, A, B, C at the point of recruitment OR you will be expected to achieve this during the apprenticeship, to successfully complete. Over the apprenticeship programme we will provide you with the training required to develop your skills, knowledge and experience, enabling you to successfully move into the trained post of Estates Housing Officer. These skills will equip you to undertake the full duties of the Job Description.

Specifics of the Role

The role is to provide support to staff responsible for delivering Estates Services policies and procedures on behalf of Neighbourhood Services. You will support the team in ensuring that Housing systems remain up to date and contain accurate information. You will manage inboxes, process and respond to enquiries and utilise various systems to accurately record and extract data. You will undertake preparation for reports that housing submits responses to, including extracting information from systems and using your judgment to identify important information.

You will also need excellent IT skills, and be able to keep accurate records. You must possess sound written and verbal skills and be self-motivated and resourceful. We are looking to recruit someone who is highly driven, motivated, professional, and enthusiastic.

Pay

£10.80 per hour for the first year, the second year will depend on the age of the apprentice, with apprentices under 18 still earning £10.80 and those over 18 earning £12.21. Trained to post-upon completion of your apprenticeship you will earn a salary of £26,403 annually as of today’s rate of pay.
