Caretaker – Older Persons Independent Living Service

1 x Part time post 20 hours per week

Location: Sheltered Housing Schemes across the City of Sheffield within the Older Persons Independent Living Service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Older Person&s Independent Living Service for a permanent caretaker to join the team. Whilst the successful applicants are likely to be based at one building mainly, we are a city-wide service and therefore there may be times where cover is needed.

The successful applicant will be expected to have a flexible approach and ability to manage their own workloads, whilst working as part of a team. The successful applicant should also possess a good level of practical cleaning skills with a strong emphasis on customer care, safety, and security of our buildings.

The successful applicant will not require handyman skills or be expected to carry out repairs. Professional boundaries with regards to service users are a must.

Duties include but are not limited to, cleaning of communal areas, identifying and reporting communal repairs, completing health and safety records, and building inspections.

A basic level of IT skills is required as some duties rely on the use of a computer or phone. Training will be provided on specific systems.

There is one vacancy for 20 hours over Monday & Friday. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit both you and the Council.
