We are recruiting two Senior Trading Standards Officers to join our team of professionals to deliver a service across the full range of trading standards legislation under the direction of the Principal Officers and to be responsible for the supervision of staff.
You will hold the TSPD, DCATS, DTS or previous equivalent acceptable qualification, and have at least 3 years post qualification experience. This must include a qualification that enables you to undertake high risk food visits in accordance with the Food Law Code of Practice and a S.73 Certificate.
We need people who think innovatively and relish the freedom that our 'problem solving' approach gives. You will be a committed and dedicated professional experienced in collaborative working to achieve service delivery, have excellent communication skills, use innovative thinking to improve outcomes and show respect and fairness for others.
One post will report to the Fair-Trading Principal Officer. The successful applicant will take a lead role in implementing the Crime in The Home Reduction Strategy, overseeing complex criminal investigations into fair trading issues and will have specific experience working with Tenants Fees Act 2019 legislation.
The other post will report to the Commercial Team Principal Officer. The successful applicant will take a lead role in delivering a service across speciality areas of Trading Standards including W&M, Food Standards, Feed Standards and Product Safety.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
