Opportunity Sheffield Senior Project Officer- Business Development.
It\’s an exciting time to work for Opportunity Sheffield, our aim is to make a difference to the lives of adults and young people across Sheffield. The service is integral to the delivery of the Economic Inactivity Trailblazer pilot awarded to South Yorkshire, has received an extension to the Shared Prosperity Funded programme and is looking forward to working on the Connect 2 Work programme from September. These employment support projects will include contracts to support targeted groups, individuals with specialist health requirements and economically inactive/socially excluded individuals.
We are seeking to recruit individuals to the post of \’Senior Project Officer- Business Development\’ within the Opportunity Sheffield team (Sheffield City Council\’s Employment and Skills service). This role will report to the Strategic Support Co-ordinator, generate employment and workforce development opportunities through engagement with existing and new employer contacts to provide a holistic work and skills consultancy service.
We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible, innovative, and forward-thinking individuals who can support and manage the delivery of this programme of employment, economic inclusion, and skills.
You will be expected to have knowledge and understanding of externally funded programmes, business relationship management and the ability to demonstrate a track record of generating impactful employer/business relationships, to include:
- Keep updated on local labour market news.
- Identify, generate new employment opportunities, and identify workforce skills gaps.
- Maintain and develop employer relationships around employment and skills.
- Attend regular network events for employers and external partners, generating business leads.
- Have a solid understanding of the programme.
- Supporting the continuous improvement of employment projects, providing updates to senior colleagues.
- Working collaboratively with internal and external partners to build relationships.
- Promote and support employers to navigate and adopt inclusive and alternative recruitment processes that lead to the generation of meaningful employment opportunities.
- Effectively & efficiently planning and organising own workload.
- Monitoring service delivery, ensuring resources are used to maximum efficiency.
- Alongside the Strategic support Co-ordinator, seek innovative ways to support or respond to employer\’s needs, whether workforce development or recruitment.
- Identifying and highlighting potential risks and opportunities to the relevant senior managers within the Opportunity Sheffield service, initiating solutions and providing advice and support.
- Taking responsibility for the development of systems and processes across the Employment Programmes and keeping the Employment and Skills service informed of progress through reports and presentations.
