An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Helena Specialist Nursing Team & Ryegate house for an Acting ward manager post. The above services care for children and young people with medical complexities in their home, school and respite provision. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Paediatric Nurse with strong shift coordination skills. You must be a registered Children's Nurse with current NMC registration.
As Acting Ward Manager, you'll join a supportive and professional team. You'll have access to great development opportunities and clinical programmes with our university and trust partners. You will ensure high standards of safe, quality care, managing daily workforce resources, and supporting the professional development of your team. Main duties of the job
- Manage the ward in different settings, ensuring high-quality care for children, following unit protocols and Trust policies.
- Monitor workload and workforce resources on a daily basis to ensure smooth operation.
- Lead and support junior colleagues in delivering care, including assessing, planning, and implementing care programmes.
- Oversee the professional development of the team, setting objectives and helping staff meet their goals.
Person Specification
Qualifications/Training
- RN Child (RSCN)
- Diploma level post basic nursing qualification in relevant field
- Degree in relevant subject
Experience
- Five years' experience in paediatric nursing with at least two years at Band 6 or above
- ENB 998 or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification
