Role Description
The Ductwork Fabricator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Royal Tunbridge Wells. Day-to-day responsibilities include measuring, cutting, forming, and assembling ductwork and sheet metal components according to technical drawings and specifications. The role involves operating fabrication tools and machinery, performing routine quality checks, and ensuring finished products meet company standards and industry requirements. The Ductwork Fabricator will collaborate with production and installation teams to meet project deadlines, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and follow health and safety procedures. This position requires consistent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently in a workshop environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in sheet metal work or ductwork fabrication, including reading and interpreting technical drawings and measurements.
- Proficiency with fabrication tools and equipment (e.g., shears, presses, hand tools, power tools) and safe workshop practices.
- Strong attention to detail, quality-focused workmanship, and ability to inspect and verify dimensions and finishes.
- Good physical stamina, manual dexterity, and ability to lift, move, and position materials safely.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work to production schedules.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with measurement systems used in fabrication.
- Previous experience in HVAC, construction, or industrial fabrication is beneficial.
- Vocational training or apprenticeship in sheet metal, fabrication, or a related trade is an advantage.
