We are seeking an experienced Events Director to work in partnership with our PR and Social Media account teams to concept and produce events ranging from intimate media dinners to large-scale product launches and brand activations. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience and have worked with clients in categories including luxury, design and the arts to plan and manage all aspects of event production. The Events Director will work alongside senior PR and Social Media team members, with junior level support, and potential for freelancer support, depending on the work. The Events Director will orchestrate events across the country in NYC, LA, Miami, Palm Beach, Newport, and more. While our agency teams work remotely, the Events Director should live within easy access to NYC, where the majority of events are produced. This candidate must be a great motivator, team leader and an overall champion of excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Media account teams on brainstorms, ideation, and client presentations.
  • Act as a primary client contact, continually fostering client-agency relationships to build trust and serve as a valuable resource and counselor to clients.
  • Oversee responsibilities and daily workflow of multiple projects, keeping work on schedule and organized.
  • Deliver and oversee high-quality written materials and production elements with an eye for detail.
  • Source, contract and manage vendors and key production deliverables.
  • Serve as primary contact to program partners, vendors and teams.
  • Develop and manage production timelines and budgets.
  • Communicate project status to senior agency management.
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise; seek senior agency management input when appropriate.
  • Supervise, mentor, and motivate team members through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills; set and pursue stretch goals.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of event planning and production experience.
  • Proven leadership skills and a track record of managing and motivating a team.
  • A demonstrated history of building strong relationships with clients.
  • An exemplary attention to detail and strong implementation of organizational systems.
  • Extensive on site experience in executing complex events.
  • Experience working with other teams on integrated event initiatives (PR, Social).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
