We are seeking an exceptional Interim Director of Housing Standards, Assets & Investment to join a leading London local authority at a critical time of transformation and service improvement. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will drive strategic change, enhance housing standards, and lead the delivery of a modern, resident-focused housing service across a large and complex portfolio.
As Interim Director, you will provide strategic leadership across housing asset management, investment, and compliance, ensuring services are safe, efficient, and aligned with regulatory requirements. You will act as a catalyst for changeâembedding a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and resident-centric service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic management of a housing portfolio of circa 20,000+ homes
- Oversee asset management, capital investment, major works, and repairs programmes
- Ensure full compliance with building safety, regulatory and H&S requirements
- Drive service transformation and improvement programmes across housing services
- Lead on procurement, contract management, and value for money delivery
- Develop and implement strategies for sustainability and netâzero carbon targets
- Champion digital transformation across housing operations
- Embed data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement practices
- Build and maintain strong partnerships across the Council and external stakeholders
- Act as a senior advisor to executive leadership and elected members
