About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to support the delivery of transport capital projects and traffic management schemes from concept through to design, consultation and implementation. Working under the direction of a Traffic Engineering Lead, you will undertake technical assessments, site investigations, project administration and stakeholder engagement to support effective delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of traffic engineering and transport projects, including studies, investigations, design, consultation and site implementation.
  • Undertake technical assessments, site reviews and risk assessments, developing practical engineering recommendations.
  • Prepare technical reports, briefing notes and project documentation, while maintaining accurate plans, registers, databases and records.
  • Support the supervision of contracts and consultants, including monitoring costs, budgets and project progress.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, internal teams, elected members, partners and members of the public regarding highway and traffic proposals.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and complaints, providing appropriate technical advice and carrying out investigations where required.
