We are looking for a reliable and motivated HGV Class 2 Driver to join our waste and recycling collection team based in Stowmarket. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for carrying out refuse and recycling collections safely, efficiently, and professionally while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily refuse and recycling collections
  • Operate machinery and vehicles safely with a good understanding of all aspects of the machinery in the role
  • Professionally undertake all duties using safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to items presented for collection
  • Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as required
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and reporting in real time
  • Carry out daily vehicle and machinery inspections before and after use
  • Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of vehicles and machinery
  • Maintain excellent customer and client relations, including interactions with members of the public and other road users
  • Assist refuse loaders on rounds to ensure routes are completed within service level agreements

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
  • Driver CPC qualification
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Willingness to undertake a variety of tasks as part of the team
