Our client is at a pivotal point in its organisational journey, investing in enterprise-wide data and AI capability. They are seeking a senior, strategic Learning & Development Consultant to shape a compelling learning strategy that equips the workforce for the opportunities and challenges of AI and data-driven decision-making. This is a high-impact, strategic role with visibility across the organisation, reporting directly to the Director of Organisational Capability. It is an exciting opportunity to define how learning, upskilling, and capability development prepare colleagues for the future while embedding responsible, ethical use of AI.
The Learning & Development Consultant will create the strategic blueprint for:
- Raising foundational AI & data literacy across the entire organisation.
- Building targeted learning pathways for functional areas, including HR, Finance, Operations, Digital/IT, and Customer Services.
- Developing technical programmes and accredited learning opportunities, leveraging apprenticeship levy funding where relevant.
- Future skills horizon scanning to anticipate the capabilities the organisation will need over the next 3–5 years.
This role is purely strategic – operational delivery remains with the internal L&D team.
What You’ll Do
- Design a multi-tiered capability framework (foundation → intermediate → advanced) aligned to organisational roles and priorities.
- Build structured learning pathways for generalist, functional, and technical audiences.
- Define success measures, KPIs, and milestones to track capability uplift and adoption.
- Conduct research into emerging AI and data trends, shaping a long-term learning and capability roadmap.
- Partner with leaders across the organisation to embed responsible AI and data literacy into culture and practice.
- Advise on strategic partnerships with learning providers, universities, vendors, and accreditation bodies.
Who You Are
- Senior L&D, Organisational Development, or Talent Management professional with enterprise-level experience.
- Proven experience designing and implementing data, AI, or digital learning strategies.
- Strong understanding of AI fundamentals, data literacy, responsible AI, and emerging trends.
- Skilled in building structured learning pathways, capability frameworks, and technical upskilling programmes.
- Experienced in apprenticeship levy-funded programmes or accredited learning routes.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, capable of advising at senior/executive level.
- Able to simplify complex concepts into clear, engaging, and actionable learning strategies.
