Sheer Jobs Limited is recruiting for an exceptional Director of Public Health and Communities to lead a high-profile statutory public health portfolio within a progressive local authority.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced or aspiring Director of Public Health to provide strategic leadership across public health, prevention, community wellbeing and leisure services.

As a key member of the Corporate Management Team, you will shape organisational strategy, influence system-wide decision-making and work collaboratively with health, local government and community partners to improve population health and reduce inequalities.

The successful candidate will be a credible and influential leader with a strong track record of delivering outcomes through partnership working, driving innovation, and embedding prevention within complex public sector environments.

You will be responsible for leading the statutory public health function while championing place-based approaches that improve the health and wellbeing of local communities.

Applicants must meet the statutory requirements for appointment as a Director of Public Health and be registered on the GMC Specialist Register (Public Health Medicine) with a licence to practise, the GDC Specialist List, or the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) at specialist level.

Membership of the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) by examination, exemption or assessment (or equivalent) is essential.
