Do you have the experience to drive our DAS processing ambitions? We’re looking for a seasoned processing advisor to join our expanding Software, Processing and Imaging (SPI) business line. You’d be based in Gatwick (UK). As part of our global technical group (GTG) you will take the lead in developing, implementing and growing our monitoring and storage services, with a particular focus on Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) data.
We’re looking for someone driven by continuous improvement and innovation as the role requires a focus on workflow maintenance and improvement, combined with a willingness to process DAS data. Therefore, you’ll be motivated to remain hands-on to help us achieve testing, production and commercialisation objectives. Working with colleagues across SPI operations, R&D, software and sales, you will be a primary point of contact for technical matters and provide guidance for the development of our internal tools.
Technically speaking, you’ll have a degree in Geophysics, Physics or similar science related subject combined with senior level experience within acquisition and processing. As a specialist, you will be able to advise on geophysical parameters for a variety of seismic data acquisition and geophysical techniques, keeping up to date on relevant geophysical developments. You’ll also be passionate about teaching others and sharing knowledge to accelerate the technical excellence of the group and motivated by increasing responsibility as your technical skills develop.
In personal terms, we’re looking for someone with a positive, problem-solving mind set. You will work closely with other departments, so collaboration and communication skills are integral. Innovation is crucial to Shearwater's continuing success which you will need to embody throughout your work, whether a focus on improving P&I standards and techniques or developing Reveal software further.
