Role Purpose: We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Paralegal to support the legal and commercial activities of our composite business. The role will involve working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to manage legal risk, support commercial operations, and ensure contractual and regulatory compliance across multiple business areas. A key part of the role will be the preparation, review, and management of commercial contracts and Non‑Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial & Contractual Support
- Draft, review, amend and manage a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, customer contracts, service agreements, and terms and conditions.
- Prepare, review and maintain NDAs, ensuring appropriate protection of confidential and commercially sensitive information.
- Maintain a contracts register and track key dates, renewals, variations and termination provisions.
- Support contract negotiations by identifying legal and commercial risks and escalating issues where appropriate.
- Legal & Compliance Support
- Provide general legal support across the business, working under the supervision of qualified legal professionals where required.
- Assist with regulatory and compliance matters relevant to a composite organisation.
- Support company secretarial tasks, including document filing and statutory record‑keeping.
- Liaise with external solicitors, consultants, and regulatory bodies as necessary.
- Governance & Risk
- Assist in identifying and mitigating legal and contractual risks.
- Ensure internal policies and procedures are reflected in contractual documentation.
- Support internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Administration & Business Support
- Draft legal correspondence and responses.
- Maintain accurate and well‑organised legal files, both electronic and physical.
- Provide ad‑hoc legal and administrative support to senior management as required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant, ideally within a commercial or in‑house environment.
- Practical experience of commercial contracts and NDAs.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience working in a composite, regulated, or multi‑business organisation.
- Familiarity with contract management systems.
- Understanding of UK commercial and contract law principles.
