The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 ÂŁ per year.

Work Times 9:00am to 5:00pm (Monday to Friday). A degree of flexibility will be needed at peak periods.

Person Specification

In this role you will be responsible for analysing, monitoring and reporting on internal financial data to support business decision‑making, planning and performance management. This role works in parallel with the finance office manager and finance systems manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Accounting & Analysis: Maintain accurate cost accounting records across multiple production units and service streams. Analyse material, labour and overhead costs, identify variances and investigate root cause. Prepare cost models for new and existing products. Conduct regular cost audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to create annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and detailed profit and loss reports. Prepare monthly consolidation.
  • Variance Analysis: Compare actual costs against budgets, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective action. Monitor cash flows, maintain financial systems and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Year End Responsibilities: Lead the year‑end closure and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion and submission of the financial statements.
  • Strategic Advice: Offer professional judgement on financial matters, cost‑reduction strategies and business performance improvement.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) or working towards it.
  • Proven experience in cost accounting, ideally in a manufacturing or composite organisation.
  • High‑level numeracy and ability to analyse complex data sets to drive business insights.
  • Strong proficiency in advanced Excel and financial/ERP systems.
  • Ability to communicate financial data to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Proactive and solution‑oriented.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with production, procurement and operational teams.
  • High integrity and commitment to accuracy.
