Private Sector Housing Officer (HMO & Disrepair)
£60 per hour | Initial 6-Month Contract | West London | Hybrid Working
A Local Authority in West London is looking to appoint an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £60 per hour.
This role will focus heavily on HMO regulation and enforcement alongside housing disrepair investigations, so previous experience handling complex cases within these areas is essential.
Your responsibilities will include:
Investigating housing complaints and disrepair cases.
Conducting HMO inspections and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Serving statutory notices and undertaking enforcement action where necessary.
Assessing housing conditions under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
Working closely with landlords, tenants, and legal teams to resolve cases effectively.
Managing a varied caseload across the private rented sector.
To be considered, you'll need:
Extensive Private Sector Housing experience within a Local Authority setting.
Strong knowledge of HMO licensing, enforcement, and housing legislation.
Experience handling housing disrepair cases from investigation through to resolution.
Competency in HHSRS inspections and enforcement procedures.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
