A Business Development Manager is responsible for initiating, developing, and managing relationships with business introducers within an agreed market segment or defined geographical area. The success of the relationship will be measured by the volume, profitability and quality of business originated from that relationship over a period.
JBR Capital offers bespoke specialist finance for modern day cars, supercars, classic cars and historic cars to private individuals and businesses. Growing rapidly from start up in January 2015, the company has lent over £1.4bn to date. Due to continuing growth and ambitions to significantly scale the origination capacity of the business beyond £400m pa, we are now looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our sales team and help drive further growth.
As a member of the Business Development Team, the incumbent is expected to support the decision-making and operation of the wider business, and to act as a role model and to others, leading the Company’s Values and making a positive contribution to the Company’s culture through:
- Provide exceptional and market leading service levels to Introducers and End Users through an enthusiastic, professional, and knowledgeable approach at all times.
- To achieve agreed sales targets via the acquisition of new accounts and the development of existing relationships within our market sector.
- Onboarding, Management and Productivity of Introducer Relationships, including Feedback via Introducer Satisfaction Surveys.
- To generate profitable business through a proactive and “can do” attitude.
- Planning and implementation of specific sales development strategy to maximise opportunities with new and existing Introducers.
- To Assess and maintain a comprehensive Territory Analysis and develop the territory through strategic planning and reviews.
- To professionally review and evaluate Introducer relationships bi-annually as part of the JBR Capital Oversight & Governance Support Programme, liaise with introducers on compliance processes and procedures and recommend actions to manage risk and reward.
- Assist introducers to select appropriate pricing and commission plans by understanding introducers own business plan and addressable market and making recommendations using the JBR Pricing Model.
- To assist Introducers with business origination from quotation to pay out stage if required.
- To liaise directly with End User customers if required and requested to do so using a personalised concierge approach.
- To provide reporting as required by senior management including pipeline management and monthly forecasting & budgeting.
- Ensure all knowledge is up to date with regards to regulatory and legislative information (e.g., Data Protection, Anti Money Laundering etc.).
- Attendance & participation at Introducer events, broker days and Industry car events such as Salon Prive, Concours of Elegance / London, Supercar Driver Events.
The Person:
- Previous experience & track record in Motor Finance preferably in the high end and luxury sector.
- Experience gained in Point-of-Sale Motor Finance is desirable whether that is through a dealer, a broker or a manufacturer.
- Knowledge of the car buying process and where Financial Services sits within that is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of the legislative framework (Consumer Credit Act, Anti Money Laundering Act etc.) is important.
- A proven track record of sales success is very important.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- A customer service orientated mindset with a clear sense of urgency and responsiveness.
- High degree of professionalism and integrity.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to understand sales & underwriting processes.
- Demonstration of tenacity, determination & drive to exceed sales targets.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Self-Starter with ability to work autonomously.
- Good IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Salesforce).
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Willingness to work unsocial hours / weekends if the occasion demands it.
