Overview

Job Title: Registered Children\\u2019s Home Manager

Location: Henlade, Somerset (TA3)

Salary: Up to £53,300 per annum + £10,000 performance-related bonus

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Leading, motivating, and supporting your team to deliver excellent care every day.
  • Making sure the home is safe, nurturing, and truly feels like a place to belong.
  • Taking the lead in care planning, reviews, and working closely with social workers, schools, and other professionals.
  • Ensuring the home meets Ofsted requirements and achieving positive inspection outcomes.
  • Managing safeguarding, health and safety, record-keeping, and compliance with legislation.
  • Being a positive presence in the home: celebrating achievements, guiding through challenges, and creating opportunities for fun and growth.
  • Supporting staff development through supervision, training, and performance reviews.
  • Building strong relationships with external partners, families (where appropriate), and the wider community.
  • Managing the home\\u2019s budget and resources effectively.
  • Leading by example, balancing structure, consistency, and warmth in daily care.

Homes2Inspire, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, and Somerset Council have come together to create safe, nurturing homes for children and young people in Somerset who have faced significant trauma and challenges. Our Henlade home is part of a wider development across the county, including children’s homes, therapeutic education, CAMHS, and high-needs foster carers. Homes2Inspire operates over 50 homes across the UK and is known for high standards of care. You\\u2019ll benefit from clinical supervision, multidisciplinary support, and the chance to work closely with professionals from health, social care, and education.

What You’ll Bring

  • A passion for creating brighter futures with Homes2Inspire, part of Shaw Trust.
  • A Level 5 qualification in Leadership & Management in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
  • At least two years’ recent experience in a supervisory or management role within a registered children’s home.
  • A solid understanding of the legislation and Ofsted regulations that guide children’s homes.
  • Strong skills in leading, supporting, and motivating a team.
  • Confidence in working collaboratively with the Responsible Individual and wider strategic partners.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • An enhanced DBS check (funded by Homes2Inspire).
