As a Community Integration Officer, you will proactively engage with local community groups, local authorities, Job Centres and the NHS to source and increase the number of eligible participants who will form part of our Connect to Work delivery in Essex. You will be expected to have a full working knowledge of the contracts we offer and be able to promote them confidently to stakeholders. This engagement will take place through face‑to‑face interaction, supported by a mix of digital channels.
Predominantly based within the local community, you will be responsible for increasing the number of participants referred to and attending their first meeting on the appropriate service. Your role will involve:
- Engaging with stakeholders to ensure they are confident in promoting Shaw Trust’s delivery of Connect to Work;
- Interacting with participants during appointments with Job Centres, local community groups and within the NHS to ensure a seamless referral process;
- Working closely with the operational team to support the reengagement of disengaged participants.
A strong travel network is essential for this role. You will be a target‑driven role with monthly and quarterly rolling targets aligned to the referrals and start profiles set by the Commissioner for Connect to Work in Essex. A robust and supportive appraisal process will support your success in the role. This is a 1‑year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
Location: Based across North and Mid Essex, including Braintree, Colchester, Chelmsford, Clacton and Harwich.
