The Director of IT Operations will have a passion for delivering superior technology support, improving colleague and beneficiary experience across our services by ensuring they have access to the right equipment and right systems, the first time, every time. They will have day-to-day responsibility for the strategic development of the business-as-usual IT portfolio delivering in line with the Technology Sub Strategy and Information Sub Strategy, ensuring Shaw Trust has an innovation first mindset and is digitally fit for purpose.
As an expert in the field, they will champion and grow our capabilities in Technical Architecture: asset management, technical hardware, application portfolio management, infrastructure and service desk support aligned to industry leading frameworks by working with key stakeholders, industry connections and technology partners to support and deliver the future technology requirements of the organisation.
The role will lead the mobilisation and demobilisation team, ensuring that IT support contract delivery, whilst providing colleagues joining the organisation a gold standard introduction to IT at Shaw Trust. The role will be responsible for leading, designing and delivering end to end solutions using a multitude of applications and technologies ensuring that required changes in technical platforms, capacity, capability and techniques are understood, defined and planned to balance speed and agility with delivery quality, confidence and auditability.
They will look to leverage our existing toolset in the first instance (Microsoft) to ensure that solutions deliver value to the business and are resilient, scalable, well managed, performant and cost-effective. This role will be the primary contact for suppliers across the directorate, working closely with the internal procurement team to ensure rigorous supplier management, holding suppliers to contractual obligations and leveraging opportunities to maximise relationships.
Reporting to the Director of Technology, they will have day-to-day responsibility for Technical Infrastructure, delivering reliable, secure and robust technology services to the organisation. They will monitor and direct workstreams to ensure cost, quality, time and benefits realisation are controlled and achieved; clear objectives are identified and communicated and the impact on the service management function is understood and supported effectively.
Reporting directly to the Director of Technology this role will lead the Solutions Architecture and Data Architecture departments, working in partnership with the Director of Digital Innovation, Head of Cyber Security and the Change and Operational Excellence departments to identify, prioritise and deliver continual improvement.
Location: You will be home based with frequent travel required.
