Purpose
As an IPS Employment Specialist, you'll play a vital role in helping people with mental health support needs move closer to, secure and sustain meaningful paid employment. Working closely with participants, health professionals, service providers and local employers, you'll make the journey into work as smooth and accessible as possible, supporting individuals to improve not only their employment outcomes but also their confidence, wellbeing and social inclusion. Managing your own caseload, you'll deliver the nationally recognised Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, providing person-centred guidance tailored to each individual's goals, strengths and aspirations. You'll build strong relationships with employers across the local area, creating opportunities and matching participants with roles that align with their preferences and ambitions. This is a rewarding and performance-focused role where you'll contribute to ambitious programme outcomes, including participant engagement, job starts and sustained employment. Full training in the IPS model will be provided, equipping you to deliver support across every stage of the employment journey, from outreach and vocational profiling through to action planning, job searching, employer engagement, job placement, workplace coaching and ongoing in-work support. Guided by the IPS Fidelity Scale and its evidence-based principles, you'll help transform lives by empowering people to achieve lasting employment and greater independence.
