Purpose: To provide Careers Information, Advice and Guidance to young people in secondary schools, Colleges, Pupil Referral Units and Community Settings.

Maternity Cover Roles (Level 6 Careers Adviser Required): We are seeking Level 6 qualified Careers Advisers with experience working in school settings on a term‐time only contract. Two posts are available as soon as possible, both providing maternity cover until 1 January 2027:

  • Position 1: 15 or 30 hours per week, term time only, over 38 weeks per year, based in a Wakefield secondary school for 2 days per week.
  • Position 2: 15 or 30 hours per week, term time only, over 39 weeks per year, based in a Wakefield secondary school for 2 days per week.

Additional Permanent Hours Available: A small number of permanent hours (1 day per week) are also available as part of a combined package for the successful candidate(s). These hours relate to a home‐based digital IAG role supporting NEET young people. This permanent post will only be offered in addition to one of the maternity cover roles and not as a standalone position.

Location: You will be based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
