We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Care Home Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to our elderly service users with conditions such as Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson's or other clinical diagnoses. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of care professionals to ensure that our service users receive the best possible care.

About the Service

New Elmcroft is a bright, spacious modern care home located in a quiet residential setting in Shoreham by Sea, close to Brighton and Worthing. The home provides 60 single en‑suite bedrooms divided into 6 separate self‑contained units each with its own lounge/dining area. The care of the individual is our highest priority. Each resident's privacy and dignity is at the very heart of our philosophy and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' health and care needs and develop care plans
  • Administer medication and monitor patients' responses
  • Provide nursing care, including wound care and palliative care
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals to coordinate personalised care
  • Support service users with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing and toileting
  • Provide emotional support to service users and their families
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records
  • Work within the Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines to maintain high standards of care
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Participate in induction and ongoing training of new staff members

Qualifications

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Experience working in elderly care, including caring for patients with Alzheimer’s and other dementia‑related conditions
  • Knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative
  • Commitment to continuing professional development

Pay & Hours

Salary: £24.32 per hour
Working Hours: 24.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 07:45-20:00 (includes alternative weekends)
