Contract: 6.12hrs per week (12.25hrs every other week)
Working Hours: 19:45 – 08:00 (Week 2 and 4 – Sunday night)
Qualified Nurse. Previous Care Home experience desired but not essential
Shaw healthcare is looking for a Nurse to join The Martlets in East Preston.
You will join a team that is fully committed to making a difference to the lives of those who we provide care for. You will be using the latest care technology that will enable you to spend more time with the service users that you care for. About the service:
The Martlets is situated in the West Sussex coastal town of East Preston. The purpose built service provides long stay and respite residential care for older people with physical frailty, and for older people living with dementia.
With 8 separate self contained wings, our residents are provided with their own team of dedicated professional care staff who are committed to placing each individual at the heart of what they do.
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Care Home Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to our elderly service users with conditions such as Alzheimer\’s, Dementia, Parkinson’s or other clinical diagnoses. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of care professionals to ensure that our service users receive the best possible care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assessing patients\’ health and care needs and developing care plans
• Administering medication and monitoring services users response
• Providing nursing care, including wound care and palliative care
• Liaising with other healthcare professionals to coordinate personalised care
• Supporting service users with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Providing emotional support to service users and their families
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
• Working within the Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines to ensure high standards of care
• Contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures
• Participating in the induction and ongoing training of new staff members
Qualifications and Experience:
• Experience working in elderly care, including caring for patients with Alzheimer\’s and other dementia-related conditions
• Knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to work independently and use own initiative
• Commitment to continuing professional development
