Shaw Healthcare is looking for a Maintenance Person to join the team at Cartref Cleddau. The role involves maintaining the home and grounds to ensure a safe and high-standard environment for residents and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the exterior of the building and grounds are maintained to a safe and good standard.
- Coordinate and control building works and refurbishments with minimum disturbance to residents and staff.
- Carry out routine monitoring and repairs of all systems, liaising with the Home Manager for specialist repairs.
- Ensure regular tests and checks are carried out and recorded, including boiler function checks, fire alarm system activation, water services and temperature tests.
- Advise the Home Manager on potential maintenance problems (heating systems, refrigeration, electrics, gas, faulty equipment).
- Comply with Health & Safety requirements (e.g. COSHH), recording all health and safety checks.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness within the care home and grounds meet Environmental Health, Fire and Safety regulations.
- Maintain and store tools and equipment safely.
- Be the first point of call for staff when repairs are required and assist with staff induction (e.g., operation of emergency exits, fire points, evacuation procedures).
- Provide telephone advice or be on-call to the home in emergencies when off duty.
- Assist with driving the home’s minibus or similar vehicles for residents’ outings as requested.
