Shaw healthcare is looking for a receptionist to join the team at Surehaven Glasgow. You will join a team that is fully committed to making a difference to the lives of those who we provide care for. Our aim is to deliver the highest standard of care to our patients and to provide the same standard of care that we would expect our own family members to receive.

The receptionist at Surehaven will be a key point of contact with excellent communication skills, delivering the highest standards of customer service to our patients and guests, and promoting equality & diversity in line with our care principles of 'wellness, happiness, and kindness'.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate Surehaven’s values in the way that you work on a daily basis and make the difference count.
  • Contribute to providing a safe, well-structured environment in which patients are treated respectfully, decently, and holistically.
  • Respect the confidences of patients, except where to do so would result in harm to a patient, or damage the organisation or result in a criminal offence being committed.
  • Operate the telephone system including responding to enquiries, screening, and transferring of calls in a professional manner at all times.
  • Ensure that the reception area is professionally presented at all times and act as hostess on occasions as required, offering refreshments to our visitors.
  • Ensure that safety and security arrangements are adhered to at all times, ensure that all visitors to site have their identity checked and that they are issued with a security pass.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras whilst based at reception desk, reporting any concerns to the Senior Administrator immediately.
  • Undertake general administration tasks as requested by the Senior Administrator e.g. photocopying, copy typing, clinical filing and audio typing.
  • Exercise integrity in respect of confidential matters and personal information about patients and staff alike.
  • Act as Fire Warden in cases of alarm.
  • Maintain accurate incoming and outgoing mail logs, including organising recorded delivery items, special delivery items and signed for items.
  • Make appointments in electronic diaries.
  • Deputise for the secretary/administrator when required.
The ideal candidate would possess:

You may be required to undertake any other duties as requested by your Manager.

Salary: £12.80 per hour increasing to £13.65 per hour from 1st April 2026.

Working Hours: 18.75 hours per week.
