Shaw healthcare are recruiting a Deputy Manager for Brynhyfryd Home in Love Ln, Builth Wells to deliver a quality of care and support to our service users in line with our care principles of 'wellness, happiness, and kindness'. You will work together with your colleagues to ensure that the physical, social, psychological and emotional needs of our service users are met. Brynhyfryd is a 42‑bedded residential care home providing care for older people, including people with dementia.

Location: Brynhyfryd Care Home – Shaw healthcare, Love Ln, Builth Wells LD2 3DG

Salary: £18.17 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hour contract (25.50 hours deputy manager, 12 hours day team leader)

Responsibilities:

  • Good working knowledge of CIW/CQC standards and the Health and Social Act 2008
  • Develop and implement evidence‑based individualised care packages, therapeutic interventions, and activity programmes
  • Lead and supervise the support and nursing teams to deliver the highest standards of person‑centred care using clinical governance and personal development strategies
  • Manage sickness, staff training, development, coaching and mentoring, and effectively communicate with the team
  • Communicate and engage effectively with service users, their families and colleagues – strong interpersonal and working relationship skills are essential
  • Understand the disabilities, health and social care needs of service users, assist those with mobility or continence needs using appropriate aids and equipment
  • Provide appropriate levels of care and support to meet personal hygiene needs (washing, dressing, bathing, toilet use)
  • Ensure health and safety awareness, safeguarding the safety of service users and colleagues

Ideal Candidate:

  • QCF Level 3 or above
  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager
  • Experience supporting the elderly
  • Strong knowledge of person‑centred care
  • Capable of working closely with each resident, assessing their needs and delivering a care plan that helps each person live a fuller life
  • Committed to providing the very best levels of care, ensuring procedures are carried out to the highest standards and optimising the wellbeing of every resident
