Shaw Healthcare is looking for a creative, friendly and organized person to plan and carry out fun activities in Homefield House. Homefield House is a 24‑bed dementia nursing care home situated in a vibrant residential area, close to shops in Rooksdown on the outskirts of Basingstoke. The single‑storey home was purpose built and comprises a central arcade area, where all residents can wander safely.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, organize and deliver varied activities that meet the service users’ interests and abilities
- Encourage and motivate service users to participate in activities and social events
- Celebrate birthdays and seasonal events within the home
- Work collaboratively with care staff to identify opportunities for meaningful engagement throughout the day
- Ensure activities are delivered safely and in accordance with Shaw Healthcare’s policies and risk assessments
- Maintain accurate and legible records of service users’ activities
- Liaise with the senior nurse on duty regarding outings
- Research prospective outings in respect of access and toileting facilities
