Shaw healthcare is looking for a Nurse to join the team in Mill River Lodge, Horsham. About The Service: Mill River Lodge care home is situated in the picturesque West Sussex town of Horsham and is close to the town centre with all its shops and amenities. The superb purpose-built care home provides 70 spacious en-suite bedrooms divided equally into 7 separate self-contained wings each with their own lounge and dining areas and team of dedicated professional care staff. The care of the individual is our highest priority.
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Care Home Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to our elderly service users with conditions such as Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson’s or other clinical diagnoses. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of care professionals to ensure that our service users receive the best possible care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing patients' health and care needs and developing care plans
- Administering medication and monitoring services users response
- Providing nursing care, including wound care and palliative care
- Liaising with other healthcare professionals to coordinate personalised care
- Supporting service users with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Providing emotional support to service users and their families
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
- Working within the Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines to ensure high standards of care
- Contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Participating in the induction and ongoing training of new staff members
Qualifications And Experience:
- NMC registered nurse
- Experience working in elderly care, including caring for patients with Alzheimer's and other dementia-related conditions
- Knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative
