Salary: £16.74 per hour
Hours: Bank – Zero hours
Shift Times: As/when needed in the service – shifts vary between 7am-5pm

Shaw healthcare is looking for a Bank Cook who is ready to make a positive impact at Rotherlea, a superb, modern 70 bed care home located in the picturesque West Sussex market town of Petworth. Rotherlea\’s approach to dementia care emphasises the importance of creating a sense of familiarity and comfort for its residents.

Job Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Home Manager, Nutritional Therapist and staff to ensure high-quality fresh, home-cooked food is provided every day.
  • Establish a rapport with residents and their families to satisfy dietary needs.
  • Prepare, cook and serve meals for residents and others in a timely manner.
  • Provide a varied diet, catering for cultural preferences of those who use the services.
  • Cater for celebrations and other events in the Home.
  • Order supplies within the catering budget and company policy guidelines, using approved suppliers in the absence of the senior cook.
  • Maintain accurate catering records in accordance with HACCP.
  • Participate in inspections by Environmental Health and/or care regulators and Local Authorities.
  • Maintain a high standard of hygiene in the kitchen by adhering to HACCP and COSHH guidelines.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy working environment by ensuring adherence to Health & Safety policies.
  • Ability to manage the Catering Team.
