Shaw healthcare is looking for a Bank Chef to join the team at Surehaven Glasgow. You will be part of a team dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of our service users, delivering the highest standard of care, and ensuring our service users receive the same respect and quality of care we would want for our own families.
About the Service: Surehaven Glasgow is an Independent Low Secure Hospital registered with Health Improvement Scotland, caring for twenty-one patients aged 18 to 65 with severe and enduring mental illness, detained under relevant Scottish Acts. The hospital features two gender-specific wards with ensuite rooms and is designed to maximize communal and therapeutic spaces.
The Role: The ideal candidate will have Food Safety and Hygiene Level 2 Minimum and be familiar with Level 6-7 texture modified diets. You will collaborate with the Home Manager, Nutritional Therapist, and staff to provide high-quality, home-cooked meals daily. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing, cooking, and serving meals promptly.
- Catering to diverse cultural preferences.
- Cooking for celebrations and events.
- Working independently in the kitchen when needed.
- Ordering supplies within budget and policy guidelines, using approved suppliers in the absence of the Senior Cook.
- Maintaining accurate catering records in accordance with HACCP.
- Participating in inspections by Environmental Health and/or care regulators and Local Authorities.
- Upholding high hygiene standards in the kitchen by following HACCP and COSHH guidelines.
- Supporting a safe and healthy working environment by adhering to Health & Safety policies.
- Managing the Catering Team effectively.
