We have several offices in Central and Southern England and have ambitious plans to expand our business. To support the organisation’s growth, we have created a new opportunity for a US/UK Private Client Tax Semi-Senior to join our central Norwich US/UK tax team. This is a permanent full-time role with hybrid and flexible working options.

The Role

  • Building productive working relationships within Shaw Gibbs and with clients as required
  • Developing and applying your technical knowledge through on-the-job training and formal qualifications
  • Assisting in the preparation of both US and UK private client tax computations and returns and liaising with clients to obtain all the necessary information
  • Assisting with various tax compliance projects
  • Liaising with HM Revenue & Customs and the IRS on private client tax matters on behalf of clients
  • Drafting client letters and emails
  • Keeping clients up to date with progress on their US and UK tax compliance, advising them of deadlines and payment amounts
  • Supporting the team with admin tasks

About You

We would like to hear from you if you are ideally ACCA, ATT or EA qualified, or part qualified, and have minimum 2 years’ UK accounting or tax practice experience. We are also looking for the following:

  • A Self-starter with a high level of resilience and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong aptitude for IT - able to pick up new technology quickly
  • Strong team spirit but also effective working independently
