Hybrid/Winchester
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer will have a strong technical background and will play a crucial role in supporting Company infrastructure, delivering IT services to customers in a fast-paced environment. Your primary focus will be continuous improvement projects, ensuring the delivery of diverse infrastructure solutions that are performant, reliable, scalable and secure. Collaborating with cross-functional teams you will execute infrastructure solutions that align with business goals and emerging technologies.
You will provide high quality operational and technical support to the wider IT teams, including incident resolution, service monitoring and maintenance, ensuring a seamless operation of our IT infrastructure. You will be a key technical resource to your Infrastructure team peers, providing them with guidance and advice. You will be accountable for adherence to the current IT SLAs, KPIs, department performance measures and processes as well as the delivery of operational responsibilities. You will be a highly motivated individual with a “can do” attitude towards delivery and used to working in a high-pressure environment.
Tasks/Responsibilities
- Operational
- Maintenance and configuration of our clients existing environments (server, security, monitoring, backups).
- Assist the IT Ops team in 3rd line technical escalations for BAU issues.
- Ensuring defined SLA’s and KPI’s are met and continuity of service is maintained.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, configurations and procedures.
- Regular updating to end users, key stakeholders and management.
- Work with 3rd party partners to ensure continuity of service.
- Work with high autonomy and flexibility.
- Recommend strategic direction for Infrastructure solutions.
- Manage IT projects, delivering tasks to agreed timescales and quality and ensuring IT systems are reliable and performant.
- Help to implement new systems/devices to support the objectives of the business.
- Continually demonstrating professionalism across all areas of the role, as well as interaction with the business and third parties.
- Be an active team player committed to achieving success.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing best practices and knowledge.
- Ensuring that appropriate responses are made in a timely fashion to requests/instructions from management, the business or the SRI Group.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

- Azure Cloud: Advanced proficiency in managing and deploying cloud infrastructure.
- MS O365: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 administration.
- Windows OS: Strong experience with Windows Server 2016 and above, including IIS, DHCP, DNS.
- VMWare/Hyper-V: Advanced knowledge of virtualization technologies.
- Active Directory and Domain management: Advanced skills in managing and configuring AD and domain environments.
- Network Routers, Switches, Firewall: Hands-on experience with network hardware and security.
- MDM platforms: Experience with Intune or Manage Engine.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage IT projects, including upgrades and migrations.
- Backup Solutions: Knowledge of various backup technologies and strategies.
- Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or SolarWinds.
- Security Best Practices: Understanding of security best practices and tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management.
- Disaster Recovery: Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- Automation: Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks.
- Diagnostics: Strong diagnostic skills to identify and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Setup and Configuration of Server Systems: Proficiency in setting up and configuring server systems, including server hardware and SAN (Storage Area Network) systems.
- Server Hardware: Experience with server installation, hardware upgrades, and firmware updates.
- SAN: Experience with SAN storage systems, including setup, configuration, and management.
- Experience working in infrastructure environments.
- A motivated and engaging team member who is able to self-manage projects and issues whilst operating in a high-pressure environment.
- Proficient in administering and supporting windows server environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Ability to produce well-structured and written documentation and communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Acquisitions: The ability to manage new acquisitions from start to end.
- Migrations: Proven server migration skills across multiple platforms and multiple server types.
