The Employment and Immigration team of this well know firm are actively recruiting a 5 year plus PQE Practice Development Lawyer. Can be based in Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh or Glasgow. The key focus of this role is creating high quality, engaging and practical content for Workbox, our award-winning HR and employment law site. The role requires a deep understanding of employment law combined with excellent writing skills to translate complex legal information into clear, user-friendly content for a diverse audience of HR professionals and business leaders. The successful candidate will also support our Employment and Immigration team, ranked in the top tier of Scottish providers in the independent legal directories Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500. CORE TASKS The role holder will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of work as follows: Research, draft and edit content on a wide range of employment law topics. Work creatively and innovatively to develop guides, templates, FAQ’s, articles that provide legal advice in an accessible format for both external clients and internal team members. Use content management systems to update, add and style content. Work with the firms Innovation and Technology team to maintain and improve content management systems. Collaborate with legal professionals in the Employment and Immigration team and across the wider firm to ensure content is accurate, up to date, and aligned with current legal standards and industry best-practice. Propose and plan content topics that address common queries, legislative changes or case law developments impacting employment law. Conduct regular content reviews to ensure that existing materials remain accurate, relevant, and compliant with current employment law and reflect industry best-practice. Stay up to date with employment law developments, best practices in legal content writing, and digital content strategies to continually improve the platform’s resources. In line with firm strategy, and in collaboration with the Innovation and Technology team, investigate and implement new technologies and AI to improve the product, content accessibility and user experience. Workbox marketing, business development and subscription management Collaborate with Executive Assistants to manage new and existing subscriptions and encourage subscription renewal. Provide exceptional service both to external client users and internal team members, responding to queries timeously and appropriately. Draft marketing materials, including emails and LinkedIn posts, promoting Workbox content, encouraging subscription renewal and attracting new subscribers. In collaboration with the marketing team, conduct regular audits of the performance of marketing materials to refine and enhance these. Contribute to compiling regular sales and business development reports, identifying opportunities for growth and implementing actions. Communicate and collaborate with the Employment and Immigration team and other teams across the firm to drive Workbox sales and renewals. Conduct regular audits of Workbox content performance metrics, analysing this data to refine and enhance the content offering to meet the needs of subscribers and internal team members, encourage subscription renewal and attract new subscribers. Understand our competitors and ensure we stay in line or ahead of their product offering. Team support Whilst the main focus of the role will be on Workbox, the successful candidate will also support their Employment and Immigration team. This support will include: research; preparation of internal and client training; drafting of styles; writing blogs and articles; and investigation / implementation of new technologies and AI. PERSON SPECIFICATION & SKILLS 5 year plus PQE qualified employment lawyer with an in-depth knowledge of employment law, with practical experience in handling employment law matters. Exceptional writing skills, with a proven ability to quickly digest and communicate complex legal concepts, and their practical implications for clients, clearly, concisely and accurately, in straightforward language. Ideally experience in writing for a digital or online audience. Proven ability in providing exceptional service to external clients and / or internal teams. Strong research skills to stay current on legislative changes, case law and employment law trends. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all written content, ensuring compliance with legal standards. Collaborative and adaptable and able to work effectively across the employment and immigration team and with other legal and business support teams across the firm Eager to take initiative in content planning and problem solving, with a commitment to continuously enhancing the value of the platform.
