My client in Scotland is seeking an EHO on an initial 4 month contract. The nature of the work will be predominately responding to complaints in relation to statutory nuisances such as noise, smoke, drainage, odour, and waste/flytipping. In addition, you will also review planning applications relating to noise and acoustics and work with businesses regarding their licences for commercial use, food safety complaints, inspections, and all general environmental health service requests.
Previous experience undertaking enforcement action and working with the public/residents is essential. Part time or full time is on offer with hybrid/flexible working arrangements. This work will require you to travel for site visits, so own transport is essential.
Work location: Hybrid, with a base in either Dunoon, Oban, or Lochgilphead. The posts require work on site within Argyll and Bute, with the flexibility of administrative time off-site.
Hours of work: 28-35 hours per week.
Line Management responsibilities: none.

- Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience working with a local authority or carrying out work on an agency basis in a similar role in a local authority.
- Qualifications: Qualified EHO.
- Post 3 (Oban)
- Experience: Authorised food officer or environmental health officer with minimum of 3 years experience in food safety enforcement and in the manufacturing and official control sector covered by Regulation (EC) No 853/2004. Fishery/Dairy Products experience preferred.
- Qualifications: Official Control Verification certificate, HACCP level 4, BSC (Hons) Environmental Health and REHIS Diploma in Environmental Health/EHORB; or Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection; or Higher Certificate in Food Standards and in Food Control.
IR35 Applies. Timescale of appointment: ASAP for an initial period of 4 months with options to extend for a further 2 months. No accommodation is being provided as part of the role. Ability to drive (pool cars available).
