The Company: Sharpak Aylesham is a manufacturer of thermoformed plastic packaging for use in the Fresh Produce and Food Service divisions. Established in 1968, the site has significantly grown in recent years and aims to be the first choice for rigid plastic packaging solutions through our reliability, efficiency, and innovation as a manufacturer of sustainable packaging on a local and global platform.

Shifts Available: Nights - 10pm to 6am

The Role:

  • To operate the grinding machines in line with Standard Operating Procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Record accurate information of granulate being loaded into the machine.
  • Ensure that materials are kept separate in order to make certain that no contamination takes place.
  • Operate a forklift truck to move product between departments where necessary.
  • To record material issues and usages in accordance with Company procedures, reporting issues to a manager where appropriate.
  • Uphold the “clean as you go” system of work to provide good housekeeping, hygiene, and health and safety requirements at all times.
  • To ensure that all documents required by the hygiene and quality management systems are completed in full, in relation to the work being carried out.
  • To comply with all Health & Safety regulations and work within the Company’s safe working practices.
  • Undertake such other duties that are deemed reasonable and commensurate with the role according to business needs.

The Person:

  • Experience in operating grinding machines or similar equipment.
  • Valid forklift truck operator certification.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to preventing contamination.
  • Ability to record accurate data and complete documentation.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
  • Good timekeeping skills.
  • Good organisational and housekeeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work night shifts from 10pm to 6am, five days a week (Monday to Friday).
