A leading specialist, renowned for providing technically advanced and cost-effective solutions to their clients, is looking for a candidate to provide technical advice, support and guidance to clients as well as proposing bespoke solutions in a friendly and professional manner.
The Role
- Carry out initial inspections of insurance claims either in person or remotely.
- Assess damage, determine probable cause and policy liability.
- Determine further investigations and monitoring, where necessary, and any remedial or temporary works required.
- Provide initial report to agreed standards.
- Attend re-visits as required and report to agreed standards.
- Implement engineering audit recommendations.
- Process claims in accordance with SMS's philosophy, standards, service levels and complaints procedure.
- Update all relevant information in iSubs, our client management system, engineering or other.
- Always maintain high standard of communication, both internally and externally.
- Meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Assist Claims Management Unit to proactively progress claims.
- Respond positively to varying clients' requirements and changes in the wider business environment.
- Problem/complaint resolution.
- Any other reasonable duties required by your manager.
Experience
- A degree in a building, engineering or surveying discipline or similar is desirable but not essential.
- Chartered status in a building, engineering or surveying discipline or similar.
- Cert C11 Qualified is desired but not essential.
- Experience with Symbility Scheduling Software.
- Displays exceptional behaviours to support the business, the team and working towards shared goals.
- Good technical skills and problem-solving ability to recognise difficulties and take proactive measures.
- Strong organisation and time management skills; able to deliver on a variety of actions to tight timescales.
- Good dispute resolution handling skills to manage disputes effectively and proactively.
- Strong computer literacy skills to make effective use of a variety of ICT platforms and applications.
- Ability to work on own as well as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of relevant legal, health & safety and regulatory matters.
- Experience within construction and different repair methods, both technical and commercial.
