We are seeking a skilled and reliable Edgebander Operator to join our clients production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining edgebanding machinery to ensure high-quality finishes on a range of panel products. Experience working with fire doors and edge banding to fire-rated standards would be a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up, operate, and monitor edgebanding machines efficiently and safely
- Apply edge banding to panels in line with production specifications
- Ensure consistent quality and finish on all components
- Adjust machine settings for different materials, thicknesses, and edge types
- Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of machinery
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards
- Work from technical drawings, cutting lists, and job sheets
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Collaborate with other team members to meet production targets and deadlines
- Previous experience operating edgebanding machinery (essential)
- Good understanding of woodworking or panel processing machinery
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good problem-solving skills and mechanical awareness
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of health & safety procedures in a manufacturing environment, desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience edge banding fire doors or working with fire-rated products
- Knowledge of fire door compliance and certification standards
- Experience in a joinery or furniture manufacturing environment
- Reliable and punctual
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Flexible and willing to learn
- Good communication skills
