Job Purpose

Within IT Technical Operations, the Technical Services team provides critical technical resources and expertise for maintaining business and platform infrastructure.

You will take a senior role in infrastructure builds, automation, and deployment to deliver a scalable, production-ready environment. Key experience includes automation, scalability, network architecture, monitoring, management, and security in NSX, AWS, and VMWare.

You will also create and maintain documentation for client networks and systems for internal teams. We seek individuals familiar with various concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, capable of supporting escalated support tickets.

Job Duties

  • Provide technical support for Betfred Group network and server infrastructure.
  • Plan and implement infrastructure projects, including creating project plans and designing solutions.
  • Design and implement automation solutions for deployment, upgrades, and operation of application stacks that are reusable across projects.
  • Act as a technical resource within business projects, providing documentation to support delivery.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to server and network topology, equipment, and configurations.
  • Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to ensure application stacks are hardened against threats.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for the Betfred Service Desk, ensuring incidents are acknowledged promptly.
  • Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and on-call duties as needed.
  • Perform standard system administration tasks, including server and application installation, patch management, and log analysis.
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues using available tools.
  • Provide infrastructure services such as storage networking, OS support, network security, directory services, server virtualization, and monitoring.
  • Manage multiple work streams, including problem tickets, incidents, and projects, ensuring effective communication.
  • Follow Betfred\’s project, incident, and change management methodologies.
  • Investigate emerging technologies, documenting and presenting benefits to management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Experience supporting server/infrastructure in support environments.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server (2016+) and CentOS/Linux OS.
  • Basic networking fundamentals.
  • Support and management of Windows server roles (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Clustering, IIS).
  • Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure (VMware ESX/NSX, Nutanix).
  • Strong AWS skills, especially EC2, S3, IAM, VPC/network configuration.
  • Experience with IAC/orchestration tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
  • Hardware build and installation experience (HP, IBM, Dell, Lenovo).
  • Monitoring tools experience (Zabbix, Prometheus, SolarWinds, Nagios).
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices in a dynamic, support environment.
  • ISO 27001, PCI-DSS knowledge is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and customer management skills.
  • Full driving license required.
