Sharp Consultancy are excited to be working with a Top 100 Accountancy firm based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, in their search for an Assistant Accountant to join them in a newly created position. This role has been created with your growth firmly in mind, offering bespoke mentorship, one‑to‑one support and a clear pathway through both your AAT and future ACCA studies. You’ll be joining a close‑knit team known for being incredibly supportive, friendly, and passionate about helping new talent succeed. This is a brilliant opportunity to build on your University or AAT foundations while taking ownership of a varied portfolio of clients – especially owner‑managed businesses that offer fantastic real‑world experience. Duties and responsibilities to include:
- Preparation of sole trader and partnership accounts
- Preparation of simple self‑assessment tax returns
- Preparation of small, limited company accounts
- Preparation of corporation tax returns
- Assist with the preparation of VAT returns
- Other ad hoc duties as directed by a manager
