A fast growing SME based near Tadcaster seeks an experienced Financial Controller to start ASAP. This role will initially be on an interim basis for 3 months but could lead to a permanent role for the right person.
Responsibilities
The objective is to lead the operational accounting function, ensuring strong controls and accuracy. Key tasks include:
- Month‑End Close & Reporting
- Deliver accurate P&L and Balance Sheet
- Design and implement strong internal controls
- Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation module
- Ensure accounting system aligns with operational costing and management accounts
- Coordinate VAT, payroll, and statutory filings
- Prepare year‑end working papers
- Liaise with auditors and tax advisors
- Support 13‑week cash forecasting
Qualifications
To be considered you will be a formally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a proved record in a similar role. Experience of working within a fast paced, hands on SME environment is essential, along with clear communication skills and advanced Excel ability.
Eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.
