We are supporting a well-established UK manufacturing business, part of a wider international group, in the appointment of an Interim Site Finance Business Partner. This is a site-based interim role expected to last 4β5 months, providing critical leadership and continuity while a permanent appointment is progressed. A successful interim term could result in the permanent appointment for those desiring a permanent role but available for interim.
This assignment will suit an experienced, hands-on finance professional who can quickly embed themselves within a senior leadership team and add value from day one.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the Site Director, with a functional reporting line into regional finance leadership, you will play a key role in supporting site performance and decision-making. Acting as both a strategic and operational partner, you will ensure robust financial control, clear forecasting, and insightful analysis to support commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the principal finance partner to the Site Director, providing both tactical support and strategic challenge
- Lead and deliver the month-end close process in line with group timelines
- Own balance sheet control and reconciliation processes
- Manage forecasting and outlook, with a strong grasp of key performance drivers and variances
- Deliver clear, actionable financial analysis to support operational and commercial decisions
- Support leadership teams with KPI reporting, variance analysis and corrective actions
- Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, strategic plans and consolidated site reporting
Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Proven finance leadership experience, within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong background in cost accounting, including standard costing and absorption methodologies
- Commercially astute, with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
- Highly analytical, solutions-focused and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive self-starter who can quickly identify issues and drive improvement
