Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be the exclusive recruitment partner for an award‑winning regional accountancy specialist based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The practice are looking to expand their Digital Finance team following continued growth and are looking to appoint a Digital Accountant into their team who can grow into a future leader across the firm.

Their work focusses on a range of clients across the region from tech start‑ups right the way through to agricultural businesses, so there’s plenty to get stuck in with and really mark your mark on this diverse portfolio. With new clients coming onboard and the integration of enhanced consultancy services, this firm continues to be a market‑leader across South Yorkshire.

This role will be best suited to ACA/ACCA‑qualified professionals within the digital finance space who are looking for a bespoke growth path and the opportunity to shape a growing team within a well‑known local firm.

What’s on offer:

  • Salary between £50,000 - £55,000

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Deliver high‑quality cloud accounting support and maximise clients’ use of digital finance tools.
  • Provide tailored advisory services on “Making Tax Digital” (MTD) and ensure full digital compliance.
  • Lead client onboarding including system setup, data migration, and cloud‑software training.
  • Build strong client relationships, offering proactive guidance and identifying efficiency opportunities.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud accounting platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
  • Streamline client finance processes, recommending automation and integrated digital solutions.
  • Prepare management accounts, VAT returns, digital tax submissions, and other cloud‑based reports.
  • Analyse financial data to highlight trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support team development by mentoring junior staff and contributing to internal digital‑knowledge sharing.
  • Assist in developing the firm’s digital‑finance strategy, supporting service innovation and future team growth.

Person Specification:

  • ACA / ACCA Qualified
  • Cloud accounting experience with use of Xero, Sage, Quickbooks
  • Experience of working within Accountancy Practice
