Sharp Consultancy is working with an established engineering business in Rotherham to recruit a hands-on, part-time Bookkeeper to support its finance team.
Initially, this is a temporary opportunity to cover an extended period of annual leave, with an immediate start required. However, with the finance team expected to grow, there is genuine potential for the role to become permanent for the right person.
This would suit an experienced all-rounder who enjoys variety, is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day finance tasks and isn't afraid to roll their sleeves up to keep things running smoothly.
The Role
Working closely with the existing team, you will provide essential support across the day-to-day running of the finance function and wider office. Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing purchase ledger invoices and managing supplier accounts.
- Supporting accounts receivable and sales ledger activities.
- Managing credit control, chasing outstanding payments and resolving queries.
- Processing payroll accurately and on time.
- Assisting with general bookkeeping and day-to-day financial administration.
- Supporting the general running of the office, helping wherever needed.
About You
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and confidently manage a varied workload with minimal supervision. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a hands-on bookkeeping or all-round accounts role.
- Experience across purchase ledger, accounts receivable and credit control.
- Payroll experience and the confidence to manage associated responsibilities.
- A flexible, practical approach and a willingness to get involved beyond the finance function.
- Strong organisational skills and good attention to detail.
- The availability to start immediately.
