Are you a recent graduate looking to build a long-term career in management accounting?
I am working with an established and successful manufacturing business that is looking to appoint a Graduate Management Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious graduate to develop their accounting career within a commercially focused environment, gaining hands‑on experience across management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business performance analysis.
Working closely with the wider finance team and operational stakeholders, you will gain a strong understanding of how financial information supports decision‑making across the business. The role will provide exposure to the full management accounting cycle, with plenty of opportunity to develop your technical accounting and commercial skills as you progress.
The Role (including full training):

Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and management reporting packs

Performing, accruals and prepayments and updating journals
-
Assisting with month‑end close and ensuring financial results are accurately reported

Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes across the business

Preparing and analysing monthly forecasts against actual performance

Assisting with accruals, prepayments, journals and other month‑end adjustments

Supporting balance reconciliations
-
Providing financial insight to help understand the performance of different areas of the manufacturing business

Developing an understanding of costs, margins, profitability and key business performance indicators

Working towards increased responsibility for management accounts, with ownership of your own cost centres
About You:
We’re looking for a graduate who is interested in a career in finance and enjoys learning new skills and expanding their knowledge.
You’ll ideally have:

An Undergraduate Degree (Mathematics/Finance related Degree preferred but not essential)

Good numerical and analytical skills

Strong attention to detail

Good Excel skills and confidence working with data

Good organisational and communication skills

A willingness to learn and develop

An interest in a career within a finance function

Previous finance experience would be advantageous but is not essential. What’s most important is your approach to learning, attention to detail and genuine interest in a career in finance.
The Opportunity:
This role offers a supportive career development pathway. You’ll start by gaining experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and other core accounting processes, before gradually taking on additional responsibilities within the finance function.
Over time, the role could provide valuable experience for a career in management accounting, commercial finance or wider financial analysis, with the opportunity to work towards a professional accounting qualification.
